As a new user of your brilliant service I may be missing something here but it seems that if I want a visible counter then it will show on all pages that are being tracked.

Do I need to create a new project just for my homepage if I want that counter different to the rest?

I also want to display some kind of small banner/graphic on my Credits page with a link to your site as I think the service provided is second to none, but I don't want it linked to my stats counter. Do you have such a thing that I can use?

login to your account > install and configuration > install code > click invisible option > generate code

use that code on the pages you want it to be invisible.

a text link to statcounter saying "web stats" or "website statistics" would be great.

Ok, I did as you suggested, checked my homepage and it is now visible, but it is also now visible on all the other pages where I had originally installed the invisible code! So what am I doing wrong? I've only changed the configuration from my account here, not the the html of any of my pages.

Sure, I will add a text link in the next few days :D

eh ... did you insert the newly generated code onto your webpage and remove the old code?

Believe me, it will definitely be invisible if you did it right.

You have both your counters set to invisible from the "configure counter" option.

http://www.aquamoonlight.uku.co.uk/

http://www.weymouth.here-on-the.net/

so if you want them invisible then you're already finished ...

If you want them visible then configure them differently. If you want them to be invisible on certain pages, then do what I said above, and don't forget to copy and paste the new code over.

On the Aquamoonlight site I started off with all counters invisible. Then I wanted it visible only on the home page (so that I can get rid of that other counter that I no longer like for various reasons). So I went to my account here, reconfigured the counter for a visible one, looked at my homepage and others and it had changed the whole lot to visible from here!

I quickly changed it back to invisible again and they all went!
So, do I need to go to reconfigure again for a visible one, get the code for the visible home page one, then reconfigure to invisible again here for the rest of the pages, then change the code in the html of my home page?

BTW, I have put a link to you on the Credits page of Aquamoonlight:

http://www.aquamoonlight.uku.co.uk/credits.html

As for the Weymouth website, that needs a bit of tweaking anyway and I did only start that website about 2 weeks or so ago.....so, that is still in its infancy. Only so many hours in a day.

Thanks for all your help. I hope Santa brings you something extra nice for being so good :)

Well I tried. I reconfigured from here, grabbed the code for a visible counter on my homepage of Aquamoonlight, put it in, uploaded it....and guess what?

No counter! I have a visible counter code on the homepage and invisible on the others....all the right code is in the right pages, but it does seem to draw from whatever is set up for the account/project on here. So it seems that if I want a different variation on different pages, I have to create a separate project to do it. I suppose that will also mean that my stats figures will be separate for the homepage, but I don't mind that.

Thanks for trying to help though and it still is the best counter I have ever found :-)

Just thought I would let you know that I created a new project just for the home page where I wanted a visible counter and it works. :)

I checked my other pages and the counter on them is still invisible as I wanted it to be, but then they are under a separate project now.

Ok, I will shut up now and hope that perhaps someone else can learn something from my experience.
