Is it possible to visit a site, tracked by StatCounter, without being recorded? I am trying to understand the mechanism of how StatCounter tracks visitors. If you are the site owner, then just add IPs to the block list but am curious if there are other ways.
I am new around here, so hopefully haven't violated any forum rules already... Do visit my site however, I welcome flames or flowers!

Thanks, I was referring to non-owners who have no access to the StatCounter account...
No. There's no way that I am aware of, except blocking their IP address and you know how to do that already.

Here is an interesting fact I found out visiting a friend's page which uses SiteMeter as a counter: turn off graphics and the visit/page load will NOT be recorded. It seems like whenever I load that SiteMeter icon, I'll get counted.
I am not sure if StatCounter works similarly or not but I wonder how invisible counters are affected?
There are people who browse with "no pictures" checked so for folks who would like to track every visit, you may want to hide your counters!
