No referring link

Most sites that link to us, do so via our satellite site. This then redirects to our main site. In the stats we can see where visitors are coming from, at least in most cases. Google Adwords referrals also come in via the same route, but having conducted some tests, they seem to arrive as "no referring link". Any idea why that might be?

You have a redirect in place, that will cause the no referring link.

Okay thanks, but perhaps I am missing something, as in, we should get no "referring link" for all traffic coming in via the redirect? But that does not appear to be the case.

if it has a referring link then that traffic is not coming from the redirect.
