As I was enrolling(maybe for Forum) I was given options for time with GMT. I had no idea what number would be right for NYC, so I left it at default, which I think is clearly faulty.

OK ... well the StatCounter system itself is a lot smarter than that. This forum was designed by some good guys over at www.phpbb.com. So if you have an issue with it, I'd let them know.

I think I won't contact the designer guys. Why? As sometimes happens, I suddenly answer my own question a day or two after asking it. I suddenly realized that I was in a New York frame of mind while the system is in GMT frame. A look at my watch indicated that GMT was five hours ahead. No more, no less.
