Page Loads FAR greater than unique visitors?!

Today I see something that I've not seen before. My page loads are vastly different from my unique visitors. Well over double. How are my pages being loaded if not from visitors? Can someone explain what this discrepancy is telling me. Thanks much.

Ideally your page loads should be far higher than your unique visitors. If you have one visitor who visits 10 pages of your site that is 1 unique and 10 page loads.

I've had StatCounter installed for over a month, and yesterday for the first time the pale blue page load indicator just started showing up. Up until then my unique visitors count and the page loads count were almost identical. Why would this be?

Hi Ann,

You were one of the 7,000. StatCounter hasn't been tracking you right for the last month, but we fixed it yesterday for 7,000 projects were it was set up wrong.

would this be the reason why statcounter is tracking my own movement on my page . after all I have put the code which is not mean too. It wasnt tracking me until I posted my 1st thread which was onthe 1/1/04

No. this was fixed a long time ago.
