Monthly Barchart

This is a feature we seem to have have lost in the transition to the new system.

I hasten to add that the new system is magic, and I love it a lot.

However, monthly barchart of page hits (12 bars, one per month for the past 12 months), was a good way of assessing how my site traffic was moving with time.

I miss it.

I am new (I signed up yesterday), but I would agree a monthly bar chart is a good idea. I am switching from Hitbox and they had some amazing summary charts. One thing I liked was the ability to show the tracking of each page viewed--it let me know if I was "losing" anyone due to content (or lack of) in a certain page. It also gave me projections based on my visitors and page views to chart my progess. That was neat also...

I haven't played around much yet to know if it is available here, but I really enjoyed these with Hitbox.

However, I am sure I will be happy here as well!

isn't the ability to plot your daily traffic over an entire year or more on a single graph much better than having seperate monthly bars?

Doing monthly bars would be easy to do - actually easier to do :)

Sounds reasonable, doesn't it? But have you had a look at the standard chart when it is expanded to 12 or even 6 months? Quite unreadable. I would not want to lose the new chart, but would like to have a 12 month barchart as well, to assess traffic growth (he said hopefully :)) over a longer period.

Doing monthly bars would be easy to do - actually easier to do :)

I'm sure there are other priorities, but it was a useful tool, and I'd like to have it back. Please.
