googlebot not showing up in logs

I have carefully reviewed my logs every day, and have not seen one i.p. or host name for googlebot, or any spiders for that matter. I know I'm being spidered, as my pages are updated regularly. I have a list of known spider i.p.'s and compare my logs to my lists, and don't understand why they are not showing up. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

This is my third page view counter and I've never seen any of them list visits from spiders. Like you, I see my new pages appearing on google, so I know they're being picked up.

StatCounter tracks visitors/browsers to your website - it does not track server activity or bots. Giving you a very accuruate idea of how many real visitors you are getting.
