Fatal Memory Error Messages

I just installed a counter yesterday on the site I'm updating for a company, and today frequently when I try to access my stats, I get fatal errors such as:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 73200 bytes) in Unknown on line 0

I'm not sure if this is a bug neccesarily, but I didn't know where else to post this.

We're better configuring the reporting server at the moment.

Those errors should only have been up for about 30 mins and should be gone now.
