I have been having some problems accessing the inbox to my Yahoo mail account and could not figure out what the problem was; it kept giving me a cookie-error message whenever I tried to log in. It wouldn't happen all the time, but it would happen often, usually when it was the initial login after logginf on to the net. I couldn't figure out what it was and even asked Yahoo for help; they informed me they checked my account and it was working correctly.
Today, I downloaded a new browser and have been using it to access my Yahoo inbox with no problem, and I thought that the problem must have been the browser I was previously using. Later, I checked my stats and noticed that the counter had been counting my own visits, so I set the cookie to block my visits to my website. And wouldn't you know it, the next time I tried to access my Yahoo inbox soon after setting the blocking cookie, I couldn't get into the inbox again.
I wasn't sure how to get to the cookies on this new browser to delete them, so I fired up the Firebird I had been using and deleted the stat-counter blocking cookie in that browser. I then went and accessed my Yahoo inbox with no problems after the cookie was deleted. This was highly irregular since I normally had to go through numerous login attempts before it would access the inbox.
It appears as though the blocking cookie from StatCounter may be sending a message to Yahoo that inhibits the ability of my browser to access my inbox. For some reason, the blocking cookie from StatCounter is also blocking me from accessing my Yahoo mail account.
