Stat counter stopped counting

My stat counter appears to have stopped counting, at least the count shown on the website isn't incrementing upward. The stats for the counter on your website seem to be working.

You have it set to only show unique visitors not pageloads. So that's exactly what it is doing.

OK, thanks for the clarification. I guess I should have known. It isn't clear to me what makes a visitor "unique" though

They are unique if they have visited your website before within a specified timeframe of say 30 mins, an hour or two hours. Depending on your settings.

So, first time visitors, plus anyone who has a specified time delay between visits is counted?

yes. first time visitors and repeat visitors who haven't visited your webpage for that length of time.
