I have pasted the code onto my website home page, and the tracking works fine.
But the website has all the html code displayed as text - surely it should just show a counter?

Well looking at your source code Frontpage (I am assuming you use Frontpage since there is a logo on the site saying you used it) has added in a lot of extraneous code that does not need to be there and it most likely the reason it is being displayed. Try regenerating the code and pasting it in directly without allowing Frontpage to add all the extraneous code.

Thanks for the advice.
I dont know what Front Page was doing. But in fact, I have not altered the code at all. I have merely ftp-ed the web site on the server again, and it has sorted it.
