Since installing statcounter code on all of my web pages, they seem to have become extremely slow when loading. I have tried installing the statcounter code at different points in the body of the html but this doesnt speed it up at all. Is this usual? :?

Yep, slowing down for me too. :'(
I'm going to have to take it off if there isn't a fix :(
Ehm guys ... I'm afraid it isn't the StatCounter code slowing down your sites. Our counters are loading lightning fast. We monitor this very, very closely. Maintaining an instant load time is always our top priority.
In your case XboxDestination undergroundtechnologies.ca is stopping your website from loading.

Actually, I'm having this problem. The counter is delaying the "onload" event on my website. I can tell for two reasons:
1. My website didn't have any delay when not using the counter. Now, some content which shows / hides onload is delayed.
2. The bar at the bottom of IE shows that it's waiting to download content from this website.
Can I suggest that, instead of loading your files synchronously, that you do it asynchronously? I can help you set up the script for this, it's pretty easy. Just has to do with using the setTimeout browser function
Thanks,
Ben
