Thanks to the great statistics statcounter gives us, i was able to avoid a potential ****-up on my webhosts behalf today.
When checking my stats I noticed an unusual url address and clicked on it to find my website in its full glory.
After checking whois i found that the website was only registered a couple of days ago and hosted by the same as mine.
a quick phone call to them and it was put right. they had pointed the other site to my ip.
I am just glad that i check my stats on a regular basis and was able to spot this before the owner of the other website possibly wiped my site from the server.
I'm not very happy with my host though!
