I'd like to propose a couple of additional features to the website itself opposed to the counter.

Personally, I would like to see all of the websites that have been registered with statcounter.com to be indexed in searchable categories. More than likely the categories would have to be created and then left up to the website owners to choose the most related category to submit their site into. Not only would that turn statcounter.com into a 'mini search engine' of registered sites, it would also open up an opportunity to develop a voluntary banner/link exchange service that would link the sites within the category together.

Let me explain myself a little further so there are is no confusion.

Say for example there are 100 websites in the Computers->Internet->Games category. Website owners would then have an option to have a small banner or link on their website. When the link is clicked it will open up a random website within the category that is also participating.

Thus increasing traffic and making everyone :D

Thanks for the suggestion.

We're on a mission to deliver the world's best web stats to the most amount of webmasters and site owners across the world as possible. I'm not sure how this would help accomplish this objective.

Just my 2 cents really.

On a previous post I asked if there would be any other type of hosting available in the future. You asked what I meant by other type of hosting and what I've written above is an example of what I meant. You stating your objective answers my question though. If web stats is your only objective. Then you've passed with flying colors.

Thx for the support. We have put together a great system over the 5 years but we are only just starting with the web stats. Although I'll admit we have almost reached the maximum of what we can sustainably provide in a free service. But just wait till you see our advanced tracker and eCommerce tracker we're launching by the end of April.
