I am very impressed with Statcounter and have been using it on a couple of sites. One of these is Japanese and is accessed by Japanese users. I would like to be able to view the keywords these users used to get to the site, but unfortunately this information is scrambled on teh "Keywords" page. I have tried changing the encoding on my browser settings to every possible Japanese encoding, but without success. Does anyone have any other ideas for solutions to this?

Hi Stephen,

Very interesting. Thank you for bring this to our attention. I'd be 99% sure it is because our database at the moment does not support the japanese charset. However I don't think it would take much for us to support it. I'll look into this very strongly. We should be able to help you out here.

Thanks for the quick response. I would be very grateful if you could make this change. Would it be possible for you to send me a quick email when the change has been made?

I'm all for the planned support of non roman alphabetical (multi-byte) languages, as my site (and therefore search keywords) are mostly in Japanese.

I too would be very happy with Japanese language support, since my site also has information in Japanese.

slightly off topic but still japan.

i have a faithful japanese visitor who visits my site several times a day. he is my most faithful visitor. when i drill him down he is now up to almost 80 visits.

he came in originally from the japanese google, tho since i can't read japanese i couldn't tell what his keywords were.

there is never a japan in my country stats. have had visitors from china in my main stats and they don't show in the country stats either.

do any of you show japan in your country stats?

Hi, Diane.

Yes, I often get Japan in my country stats. Japan and the US often jump between 1st and 2nd rank on my (extremely low-traffic) website.

thanks, glad to know that some one is getting japan! was beginning to wonder if i had imagined the country existed.

today for the first time i show japan in my country stats. today my faithful japanese visitor made his visit number 80.

my web site is also low volume, i rarely have more that 50 hits in a day and usually somewhere between 25 to 40. so i know all my regulars, and am very glad to see them.

my site is a academic reference site on the genealogy of greek mythology, no stories except for minimal identifying, only genealogy. not many people are interested in the genealogy of the greek gods, but the ones that are are really really interested.

i feel very protective about my regular visitors, glad to see that my most regular visitor is finally getting some respect.

that was the last time my faithful japanese visitor showed in my country stats. he is now up to visit 86.

he deserves a reward, at least to be counted.
