can statcounter be used for tracking outgoing links...if not

can statcounter be used for tracking outgoing links...if not, how can i do this simply for a day to get a feel for them? if so, how do i set that up?

It does not track outgoing links but if you just want to try StatCounter out for a day feel free to signup and insert the code. If you want to remove it and close your account there are no strings attached, just remove the code and goto http://www.statcounter.com/close_account.php

thanks for your reply. i'm already using statcounter and very very happy with its ability to track incoming links.

do you (or anyone reading this) know of an easy way to track outgoing links? I did some research on google and found a bunch of info on perl scripts and so forth that didn't work when I tried them.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm a novice to the outgoing link tracking concept!

I have not tried to do it myself but a brute force kinda method would be to have your links go to a redirect page on your site that redirects very quickly but has the statcounter code on it and you could track it that way but that is very sloppy really.

thanks...i was considering that too but would like to see if there is an easy way to just insert some code that would allow me to track outgoing clicks (and not slow down the click thru process). again, thanks for the idea.

On the subject of outgoing links, why doesn't statcounter.com make this information available? I understand it wold take coding the outgoing url's but it would be very useful.
