Hi guys, I have recently started up a site for our community in Ohio. Please stop by and check it out and let me know what you think. The chat forum kinda turned into a Nascar forum, but, I guess what ever works. Please give me some advice on what you would do different.
Thanks in Adavance

Nice site. One thing I would do is change the resolution so those of us using 800x600 don't have to scroll over to see the entire page. According to my stats there are still plenty of us around.

Easy to use layout, however I would set up some HTML on the links at the top of your navigation bar that would make the linked pages load in a new window. I would check out the following page to see what I'm talking about:

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex8/newwindow.htm
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex8/newwindow2.htm

A much simpler way to do the above (below)
TEXT (page.html)
This should do the trick. also on you index page "Vinton County, Ohio Online" is on top of all the links, meaning I can't click any of them.

I am using Mozilla, that may be part of the problem. You should test your sites in multiple browsers if at all posible, to make sure your site works for all. To download Mozilla for free go to: http://www.mozilla.org/.

Annther suggestion would be to make you index page shorter. Split it up into separate pages. This makes your site easier to navigate, and easier on the Eyes.

Before you give advice, learn how to spell.....

Do us all a favor, get rid of the signature banner. It is really annoying. It is a bad attempt at trying to be a designer. I do understand that we all have to start somewhere however it is also good to have respect for other people. We appreciate your opinions but that banner has got to go......

If anyone would like to stop his banner just press the stop button at the top of your browser.

Got a better banner and I can't spell, I HATE SPELLING. So I don't take that as an insult. Also at least I have the ability to make banners....

That is a much better banner. Thank You.
It was not meant to be an insult.
Nothing I said was at any way a direct attack... just a little bit of criticism.
However; judging by your reponse I would say.......
14 years of age?

Actually, before you try to rip on someone's abilities that you do not know..... get to know them first. If you would like to see some actual real design work, not something throw together and claimed to be a banner, and go head to head on that, I would be more than happy to accommodate you with some banner vs banner or better yet; design ability vs design ability.

You have got the first part down.... learning to work with the program. That is only part of it however. You also have to learn about working with font and colors, then layout, then learn opacity, then learn optmization and about load time. You also have to learn about size..... Bigger is better does not apply in the banner world.

You are on your way and I wish you luck in your ongoing process for learning. However; if you cannot spell, then how will you ever make banners in a timely manner if you have to keep looking up the words.... spelling is a key part to doing anything in life.

Take it for what you will

Hope it helps.

Okay back to what this topic was about.

Do you really want me to give an opinion on the website?
You probably will not like it.
Do you want an analyzation of the website as well or just an opinion?
Is this your first website?
Do you know how to write HTML or upload FTP?
If you would like an analyzation and/or an opinion on the website let me know. I do not pull any punches and I will be glad to help you out in that area.

Hope it helps
