Visit Duration

Hi

Maybe I am just missing this but a visitor visit duration would be a good feature to have. Most free counters have this but I have not found it in the stats. So might I suggest this if it is available already where can I find?

Well, I'll grant you that, but I have a problem imagining how it could be implemented. Since I don't know everything (big understatement), this is no small wonder :lol: . But I have not seen this myself on any counters, let alone free ones. Do you have an example of one where you have seen this feature?

Yeah here is the counter I was previously using is free and also add free like this one.

On this page scroll down to where you see Last 40 Visits and click on a number under the PV column and you'll get a pop up under which has the visit duration for said user.

Note the link above is for that counters demo page showing the counter and stats. I like this counter better thogh cause it is more customizable but just lacks the duration aspect which is extremely useful in determining if the user just popped in and popped right back out or if he/she spent some actual time on the site.

I'd also like this feature. It's something I miss that I used to get with the freecounter Sitemeter.

Sitemeter also showed hits in each time zone so you could quickly see what time of day your hits are occurring and which area in the world they came from.

I can see that would be useful. But I already get that information from the Path stats. I have to subtract the time for a user.

But I guess it would be very nice to aggregate the info that is there in the path stats to be able to see the average, max, and min visit time for each page.

You shouldn't have to add or subtract though most free counters that are any good at least have this as part of their stats telling you right away how long the visitors time was on your site.

yes this is a great idea - we'll see what we can do about adding it to the free stats - please don't ask for a timeframe. it will be more than a week from now.

we're also going to add returning visitor stats to the free service.
