Nice site. But yes, indeed the main page (or rather the menu) loads slowly.
I am not sure but I believe it may be due to your flash files or the method you use to render them.
I am no expert in Flash, but the few applications I've seen of it would use the following construct:
<embed src="New%20Left%20Side%20Buttons.swf" quality=high pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="125" height="475">
</embed>
I don't know if this would work better. I just thought I'd point it out.
Probably the same thing applies to the right side menu.
Also, for compatibility with other browsers, there is a construct involving <object>, which is more complex.

If you are cutting out phone lines then you are cutting out 40% of the Internet which is still on phone lines...
I despise frames...... I would rather put the stuff into SSI's and DHTML and you can still accomplish the same effect that you are looking for.
As for load time. Which as much as you have going on, it loads just fine. Your index is 1.25MB
I have always liked Java applets especially the water applet. I presume that you are not trying to get this website to the top of the search engine list.
Nice Amature Flash Work... did you do this yourself? You have some talent there......
If you are going to use ANY type of music, you should put a button to shut it off.
WOW 120,407 bytes for your wrench... you are right about that.... the website is ONLY for high speed.
Okay, My battery is about to die on the laptop..... This is where this ends for me.
For everything that you have on there, you have pretty decent effects... I presume that is what you were going for....
Hope it helps

Thank you sir. Yes i did do all of the flash and the effects. That is why everything is so huge. You always learn what you should after you are done. I wish i would have done things differently, but i put 5 months into the site and a lot did end up being left off. But thats how it goes. My friend helped me on it and he is gone for 2 weeks so when he gets back i will do a dial-up site also.
I despise frames...... I would rather put the stuff into SSI's and DHTML and you can still accomplish the same effect that you are looking for.
I hate frames too. Thats goes with being a beginner, don't know what to do. Is there an easy way to make these changes? I wouldn't mind being at the top of search engines. I hope you like my site and my inventions. First time for any of this stuff. Its a headache too. Thanks for the kind words. I did have sounds on my buttons, but people said it was annoying.

Don't get me wrong.... my battery on my laptop was about to die so that is as far as I got..... Today is a new day....
As I said, I like your flash effects.... being at the top of the search engines is easy.... however; being at the top of the search engines for a competitive highly searched for keyword phrase is not....
Anyway, I like the effects that you have created.
The sound- I was more talking about the pages that use sound not the buttons.
When using flash, sound, and different semi-annoying effects, keep this in mind:
Play it 50 times, which you will probably do working with it, and watch it beginning to end... If you can stand within the 50 times, then it probably will not be annoying to other people.... I am more talking about sound and flashing effects and other sorts that are usually annoying to people. If it annoys you, you probably should not include it on your website.... :)
Can the switch be done easily? No
Changing your website over to DHTML is not an easy task. Now, if you learn CSS and HTML and you rewrite your website in CSS then that should take a few days to rewrite everything that you have there... CSS is NOT hard to learn.
Search Engine Spiders- Keep this in mind.
Search engines do not walk frames so you have to have links to all of your framed in pages from every page.
Spiders do not read Java Applets. They DO read the text between the Java Applets (Depending on which one you are talking about)
Spiders do not read flash. They DO read the text that is put out by flash in the comment tags.
Hope it helps

My first advice to you:
Do not use frontpage... lol
Front page is okay for beginners that are not planning on getting into SSI's to make life easier or get into dynamic websites... When you start getting into that get away from fontpage. (2002 and below, I have not played with 2003)
2nd, do you know how to use MS Word? I mena really KNOW how to use it. Do you know how to create tables?
If you can master MS Word you can work in and out of FP like eating apple pie.
3rd, you can do this one of a couple ways....
using strictly HTML you create a table at the top of your page and place your buttons inside of that table
This will leave a margin of space from the table to the top of the webpage.
You can make your table go all the way to the top of the webpage by including the following in your body tag topmargin="0".
Please do realize that the above will work but is NOT the CORRECT way to code nowadays.
You want to use CSS or Cascading Style Sheets in order to create your margins.... This is an EXTREMELY EASY Language to catch the basics on. Like drinking water.

FrontPage Creating Multicell Tables Tutorial (http://www.byastro.com/tutorials/frontpage3/frontpage3.html) - This one actually shows you what it will look like.....

Well thanks, ill have my friend look at it when he gets back in a few weeks. If you have time and you like what i invented feel free to spread the word. www.JanceCustoms.com

It is not that hard.... Check out the tutorials I have provided about making Tables...
Step 1 Make a Table
Step 2 (optional) Make table with 0 margin
Skip above step if you don't care about 0 margin
Step 3 Add pictures and links within Table
That's it

Hey. I know about making tables i have done a few. I always have problems with the hyperlinking. What do i put for the target? I just want to put buttons either on the side or at the top. I get confused on where they open. And im guessing it uses the regular scroll bar were it should be right? I will try that out if you can tell me were to send the hyperlinks. I want them in the table and the photos to be opened in a new window. Thanks here is what I have so far. www.JanceCustoms.com go to the dial up section.

Actually, that is a cool effect.... Annoying but cool looking.
I admire your persistance with the frames thing.... whew.... You have some more practicing to do.... getting frames to look good is difficult. I understand now why you were saying you get confused as to where they go.... You have to target the frame. All you are doing is telling the link target="frames name"
I see what you are trying to accomplish and it is a nice try and you ended up with a cool looking effect but overall that is going to be very annoying to your visitors.... You want a FRAME at the top and only 1 scroll bar..... Again, you have to understand that although I KNOW how to work with frames, I despise frames... so when you ask me a question, I don't even think frames. The thought doesn't cross my mind. Anyway, what you want is to set your main page to and 80/20 split You sort of have this... It almost looks as if you did an IFrame.... I didn't even bother to look at the code...... You can do an IFrame as well however you want that to go all the way to the left and to the right....
Here is where I learned to work with frames....
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutors/fram.html
That website will teach you alot! Joe is awesome in everything that he does and how he teaches.
Another consideration of making a dial up website is your image.....
take the following image on your website
http://www.jancecustoms.com/Links%20circle.jpg - 50,780 bytes
YIKES!
hmmmmm let's break that down for a phone line...
50,780 bytes / 1024 = 49.59 rounded to 50kb
An AOL Proxy downloads realistically at 3kb per second
50kb / 3kb per sec = 16.6 seconds rounded to 17
Okay, so you are expecting that person to wait 17 seconds for that 1 image to appear on their monitor. Yeah right....
Say goodbye to Mr and Mrs client.
Here is another version of your image
Link Circled Optimized (http://www.worldfamousgiftbaskets.com/images/pics/linksCircle_optimized.jpg)
This is only optimized once. You will see that it is 18,242
18,242 / 1024 = 17.8kb rounded to 18
18kb / 3kb per sec = 6 seconds.
Now, that is still way to long for 1 image however again, I said that image was optimized only once and at a great quality.
Did you do all the drawings yourself? They are some pretty nice drawings... I am talking about the sketches and the website art.
Hope it Helps.

Hey me again. I just emailed my website host asking a question about tables. they take forever to reply. If i make 1 table with 12 cells on the top 1 cell for the middle for the info and 12 cells at the buttoms for the same buttons. Can i hyperlink everything into the middle cell? Ive tried so many times to do that. What do need to put as the target. Im trying to read threw that tuturial really i am. Yes I did all of the images myself except for my Jance Customs logo. i paid to have that done. Just started messing with photoshop one day. I have a few pictures that are somewhat better in the high speed site under misc photos, then car related photos. the body dropped viper is my favorite. Thanks ttyl see ya. I really want to get on search engines i hate frames too! Help

1. If you hate frames, quit using them
2. Our terminology is getting confused. You are talking about frames..... I am talking about tables... these two things are way different.
Frames are made up of different webpages put onto one webpage. Tables are on a single webpage.
3. The answer to your question is an IFRAME otherwise known as an inline frame. Exactly what I presume that you are doing now.
4. Did you read the tutorial I sent you about frames or did I waste my typing.... You can also get a tutorial about IFrames on that same website. I highly suggest reading it.
