Which in your opinion is the best web browser, free or paid for.
I have been using IE (6) for years but have just downloaded Opera 7 and find it very fast and easy to learn, however always happy to try something different, there is life beyond Microsoft (apparently)
This information should be useful to all web masters so they can make their web sites compliant to the various browsers, or at least to the most popular ones

I've been using Opera for quite some time now. I think it's great! Opera is very fast and has a lot of options.

I also like Firefox. These days, I only use IE for testing web pages I'm building.

27 views and only 3 on the poll, come on - it only takes a second or 2

Funny that no one can just do the poll. I have always used Netscape. But since I changed to Linux I use Mozilla. Basically the same thing. They are all powered by Geko preccessor.

I prefer Firefox (now in 0.9 beta). It loads and runs faster then both Netscape and Opera in addition to the superior browsing IMO that it offers.

Well thanks for the few replys to my poll, 80 views so far and 7 on the poll

Just to remind you we are not voting for a new President or Prime Minister - but when the poll numbers get above 100 all income tax through out the world will be abolished - yes zero taxes - sadly we are not going to get there...............

The 80 views are made up of at least about 60 views by bots and spiders who don't vote

I use Mozilla Firefox .9 I only use IE to view my web site to make sure the people who use IE to view my site are seeing what I'm seeing. I did put one of Firefox's promotional buttons on my site and I have noticed a big increase in the number of my viewers who now use the browser. I HIGHLY recommend it! It's a respectfully small download and easy to use. They have these plug-ins too that developers have made and they just keep getting better every day.

I was tempted to try Mozilla Firefox .9, but I download Opera first, and for now I am going to stick with it, however the reviews on Firefox are all very good, so I may try it in the near future - then decide which one to keep - HOWEVER it goes to show how naff IE is, when you try others that steam ahead on speed and style.
Try these other browsers you guys - you will not be disappointed and most of all, they are free.

All right I'm going to leave the closet now, I admit, I do use IE6. I'v got also MyIE2 (modded IE6) and Mozilla (testing purposes).

I find it stupid to have different browser reading the same thing different. Yes we shouldn't be forced to follow MS in everything, but keeping browser to follow the same regulations and methods would be something nice. Even on W3C approved coded pages you can see differences between IE or Geckco based browsers.

As for the browsers themselves, well, for me a browers is something where you type an adres in a bar, and you view it. I sometime use favorites and that's all, all other options are just as good as redundant to me

Click on help at the top of your browser window adn then select About Internet Explorer - it will tell you the version.

Netscape still exists and some folks still use it, though many other browsers have spring up from it.
