I've upgraded and it said that a perk was that the code could be placed on an https page. My hosting service provides the secure page. They are happy to add the code to the page(s) they generate in the purchasing process but Iwanted to know whether it matters that those pages have a different URL/different domainn name.

No, that shouldn't matter, since Statcounter does not check at the time it logs whether or not it is within the domain(s) specified in the account settings. At least the regular versions I'm using don't, so I see no reason why the secure versions should.

In order to obtain more tailored reports, you can place those other domains in the settings yourself (Project Settings > Website URL).

Question?,

Will it work on the free Geocities pages if I have links from my paid
website server and put the code on the Geocities html pages?
Will what work? The regular Statcounter code or the HTTPS part?

Regular Statcounter code will work from any page as long as you place it correctly within the html code of the page. If you have to use the frames version because of possible url forwarding, you must do so.

For the https part, I'd suspect Geocities free hosting would not support it anyway, meaning your Geocites hosted page will not be accessible via the https protocol, but only by http. So if you have a link there to some other site using https, the privacy warning about secure and unsecure information would come up.

My Bad!

I'm sorry, I didn't see the S in (Https).

I was just wondering if I put the Html code for the stats counter in my
geocities pages that I link to from my paid website server will work?
Not using Https.

Sorry for the confusion.
It should as long as you do it correctly.
