Oops! We did it again! Better stats for You!

Have you logged in and checked out the latest new stats added to the ‘Standard StatCounter Projects’? Give a warm welcome to the brand spanking new ‘Entry Page’, ‘Exit Page’ and ‘Visit Length’ stats. Notice the much improved report for viewing the live visitors to your website in the “Recent Visitor Activity”. And try out the new ‘domain only’ option for your ‘Came From’ stats, which quickly lets you know about your biggest referrers.

If you haven’t checked them out yet – do it now! We are squeezing as much power out of our servers that we can, to deliver you to the best possible information about your visitors.

As always StatCounter is here to help site owners understand their visitors, make good decisions and be more successful online!

Please Vote for StatCounter - Deadline this Friday!

I’ve been nominated for two awards for “Web Developer Excellence” and “New Entrepreneur” so we would appreciate it if you would take the time to fill out the form and tick the option for “Aodhán Cullen” in the two categories. Please complete the entire form including all fields or else your vote will not be counted. Thanks for the support!

Are u all still looking to include a feature that will track the SE robots and crawlers? If so, will u all id them by name or by IP or both?

Thanks
David

that is only possible with server log analyis and isn't planned till next year

Advanced StatCounter Project first and it will not be able to do that (but will have some very impressive visitor stat capabilities)

Can I just emphasise the importance of ironing out the big flaw with Email Reports - as in not getting them when asked for?

10-31-2004, 03:55 PM
Yep i'll be looking into it personally myself but from the staff discussions it seems like they are being sent out, but are being blocked by spam filters.

No, don't get caught out with that one! When I, and many others, press Send Email Report NOW, we get it fine. How would my spam filter program know the difference between a manually requested or an automatically requested email?

Please look further afield.

it's sent from a different server though for that one

a server that wouldn't normaly send out emails so that might be part of it

but don't worry if martin doesn't get to the bottom of it - i will be looking into it personally very soon. There's a problem with a few invoices and VAT and need to fix that up first. Then i'll do the email reports and then all effort will be focussed on the advanced statcounter project for its release at the end of this month.

Right now personally - i'm working on the Billing.

Some spam filters may be blocking mass mailings as those that are scheduled to be sent out regularly would be, depening on how the email header is formed. But this isn't really what's happening because the email address where I have mine sent doesn't filter out spam like that, it simply puts it in the bulk folder and I haven't seen any there from Statcounter yet.

Absolutely agree with that, chrisooc. Same here. I use Mailwasher Pro, which is very customisable.

Mine simply goes to a yahoo email address. My junk email collector par excellence

However what Webmaster is saying makes sense. That server may in fact not send email out if it's not configured for that task. Somehow the email sending software doesn't trap this either.

Mailwasher here as well - i like the way you can quickly scan all the spam just to make sure there isn't anything you want - then say bye bye. And no risks of viruses. Most ISPs do spam filtering they don't even tell you about though - AOL being a horrible example - but i think they changed their ways since ...

Hi,

I enquired about this before and was told that it would be available end November.

I need to draw 6 month summaries for a report that has to be written for a client - Most important are keywords searched for, referrers, country stats and browser stats.

Is that at all possible and if so how do I do this?

Great service!

We've had to push it back to the end of December.

I've gradually been adding your free StatCounter to my clients' sites and I'm getting some excellent feedback. Hopefully I can get 'em to pay for the service over the next few months! Keep up the good work.
