I keep getting signed out from the forum, is it just me?

For some very strange reason today I'm being signed out of the forum constantly. Basically if I close the browser window in which I signed in, when I get back, I'm gone.

This looks like I'm losing the forum cookie, and probbaly I am, but it's apparently the only cookie I'm losing in this manner. Other times I seem to lose the Statcounter admin page cookie. No tthis time though, just the forum cookie.

I have for a while suspected all sorts of things involving my browser and anti-spyware stuff I've installed, never found anything conclusive though. Before I go and check all sorts of settings all over again, is anybody else experiencing this right now?

Adaware picks up a Statcounter cookie every time I run it, always the same one apparently (or a clone of it), though I place it in the ignore list.

I don't claim to understand cookies, but I find this very strange, sort of defying all logic.

Either there's a bug somewhere in the software that sets these cookies or my IE is totally messed up. The strange thing is that it seems to only concern phpbb forums (Statcounter's and a couple of others as w, where I should remain logged in). I am logged out of them all after a short while, after either closing that browser window, or surfing to other sites and coming back later.

Going beserk here trying to figure out wherein lies the trouble :?
