Visitors and pages viewed

I find the recent visitor activity screen very useful in tracking visitors from outside the UK.

I know that the free counter has a limit of 100 visitors, but it actually seems to count each web page visited (I have the code on all pages) as a visitor. Hence when 100 pages have been viewed all recent visitor activity is reset and I lose details of previous visits.

Why is this ?

Will the new version to be available at the end of November 2004 address this problem ?

Hello,

Free counter has a log size of 100, 100 log size means 100 pageloads and not visitors. The log works on cycle system, so it starts on item #1, then writes at #2, #3.. and then it reaches #100. After that it starts over at item #1, item #2, and so on.

The only solutions to this is to have increased log size, Advanced StatCounter project wil have increased log size plus lower upgrade costs - watch out for details when its launched by the end of this month.
