I'm rather new at this website ownership and advertising thing, but have learned a good bit through the last 7 or so months. I was courious about Google ads. I see them everywhere (including here) and are probably going to add them to the redisigned version of my site. My question is the simplest and first I'm sure every one wants answered. How much do you make per click. I'm sure it depends on what the person who's ad it is pays, but is there a percentage that they give you? I'm not expecting to get rich from the ads, just some income to help with the expenses or ad to any profits that I might make in the future. Thanks for the insight!

as you say it depends on what the person has set to pay for adds clicked. Depending on there choice of keywords depends on there costs.
As an advertiser (i.e. displaying adds) you get a minimum of 0.02cents per add clicked google getting 0.03 cents per add.
If they compliment your site I'd say use them. It's basically free money depending on how many are clicked. very easy to style to suit your site and check out the new search feature where you can 'custom' the results page to suit your site..i.e. you set google search and if it's used it can either display the default google search results page or a custom one. Also you can set it to search your own site..
Like I say takes minutes to set-up and copy/paste into place. I'm getting my first check of them soon $317.03us (about 238euro's) :)
Note: Google adds are subject to taxation policies.

Hi SportsInvestor,
Google run 2 similar schemes. adsence and adsearch. I do not know much about Adsearch but basically you run an official Google search and when people click on the links it produces you get an amount of money.
With Adsense you have the ads (there are verious shapes, sizes and colours you can use to blend in with your site). The code picks up, what it thinks are similar content to your site so the site needs to be keyword rich. You can block upto 200 URL's which may be compteting with you (remember that if you have a better deal you may want to keep them on). When people click the link you get the money. An overview can be found here.

Sign up is easy. US tax payers have to give their tax details. If you are a non US tax payer and do not have US business interests you do not have any tax details (selling to the US is OK).
The amount you get paid varies. As Nomad has said, some clicks are very small and some are larger. I think you can get payment after the first $100. How much you get depends to too many criteria to guess. You would need to take your visits, how many click throughs and what they clicked to get this.
It's free!

AdSearch is very like AdSense. You put a search box on your page to allow a visitor to search your site or the web. This then displays SERPS in a window you can customise with your logo/banner. AdSense ads are displayed based on the search terms used, and you get paid if a visitors clicks them.
Note: that unlike AdSense, AdSearch makes a small charge for the cost of performing the search. Don't know how much, but it will be less than your earnings.
I use AdSearch on my site, but visitors seldom do!

Well i got turned down for google's adsense program. apparently they will not approve any website with gambling related issues. It's kinda a hypocritical policy, since they will allow me to place an ad. i have a few affiliates that use google ads to advertise my ebook, but at the same time i can't put ads like those on my site. doesn't seem to make sense to me, but what can you do. thanks for all the responses.

i found another pay per click provider. BidClix.com will put ads on your site as a skyscraper or banner, and also does popunders. the best part for me is that they have a gambling and casino category as well as sports.

Looks like pop-unders and online casinos go kind of hand-in-hand - main reason why they are all for the most part on the Spybot sites-to-kill list.

i'm not interested in pop unders. I just want the ads on the side column. I never liked the annoying pop ups and unders. My site isn't a casino site. I sell my ebook on it and have a few other resources that others interested in something like my book might also be interested in. I'm just trying to sell some good information and make enough to pay for the website.

Well I got an email yesterday evening from Google stating that I am now accpeted into the program. This was only after I emailed them after I was disapproved telling them that I think that their policy is hypocritical. It goes to show you that you never take no as an immediate answer. I didn't expect a response, let a lone approval. But hey I got it and hopefully it works out for me.

If you want to try someting else (not text ads) you can try the Product Ads at Click Share. They pay really well.

Did you mean to say your FIRST check is over $300?
GOOD GRIEF!
Were your checks held up for some reason, or did your earnings really build to this point in one month?
That's major encouragement!
