Visit Length: 15 hours 17 mins 18 secs. How is it possible for a visit to last that long?

The gap between the 13th and the 14th looks like this:
13th December 2004 03:35:28 PM
14th December 2004 05:10:19 AM
It would seem that such a time lapse would end one session and begin a new session. No?

I don't understand what is happening here. Any (informed) ideas as to how this is possible?

I just had a thought... (scary, huh!)

Since the site (project) is a discussion forum, would the long log-in time be due to the fact they failed to logout using the logout option and then came back later to the site, still logged in?

I just figured this out all by myself, didn't I?

...site is a discussion forum (just like this one). The counter code is embedded in the top header (invisible), so that every page load can be logged...

Does that mean that Statcounter actually still works if the code is placed within the <head></head> section on a page then?

No.

The *header* I'm refering to is a part of the subsilver template for phpbb. It is a file called "overall_header.tpl". Where I have placed the code is in the *header* file, just under the name of the BB. It is definitely after the <head> </head> section of HTML.

I have a visitor who is logged with a visit length of 14+ hours. No messageboard or any such thing on my site and there's not enough there to keep someone that long. Maybe they just went to my site, left their computer on and went to bed, eh?

Okay, I just caight it happening again on a different site of mine that has no log in or out...
