Arne!
I would have thought that you (of all people!) would have known that Santa lives in LAPPLAND, so he is a Swede, a Finn, or even a Norwegian! ... Or perhaps YOU are Santa, and you are trying to throw us off the trail to your doorstep?

Lappland is only where he has the reception and receive the tourist so the children can meet him in a more convinent way, since there is no airport on North Pole large enough for all the planes

I've checked! apparently the REAL Santa lives in Santa's village, on the foot of Korvatunturi in Finland, where he spends most of the year making presents. There are many bushy bearded impostors who claim to hail from Greenland, North Pole, Denmark etc but the original one is a Finn! so it's ok Arne, you're no longer a suspect!

Too late for this year but in the UK if you (or you kids) send a letter to Father Christmas, Santa Claus, Santa or something close and give a return address (not a legal requirement in the uk - Yet) you will get a letter back. Post early (not my 17 years in the UK Post Office) but he will be busy.

Oh, Peg, you know why the North Pole is in Canadian waters, don't you? Cuz those waters froze before it (the North Pole) could get away, so it got trapped
Which makes Santa willy-nilly a Canadian national. Had he but known our onerous tax structure, he'd surely have gone to Costa Rica instead. Still, he does find lots of the gifts on the grey market.

Hmmm.... could be, but you know, I think those gifts could be considered 'charitable donations', so they'd be tax-deductible. *snicker* But could you really see someone from Ottawa going up to the North Pole to do an audit on Santa Claus? I should think that would be political suicide for the person that ordered it.
Mind you, there is the question then of where he gets the money to buy all those gifts....
