"Lost" visitors

Last time I checked today, about an hour ago, I had about 51 visitors logged. Now I have only 17. The most recent visitor is now logged as having visited the site at 6:43 am, and I know I've had visitors since that time.

NOTE: Now the log includes a couple more visitors having stopped by at 7:54 am.

One more visitor added; he came by just after 8 am.

Hmm. Now two more appear.

Strange stuff. Is the log regenerating? Why would visitors drop off the log to begin with?

I guess it's all good as long as the log is reconstituted...but it's still kind of weird.

I am having exactly the same problem, stacounter has "lost" around 400 visitors, according to my records so far, and I think that it may have lost quite a few "page loads" as well, although I only glanced at the latter.

Looks like my log is being restored. Check yours to see if its coming back.

Four hundred visitors today? I hate and envy you. :lol:

Yeah, I was just about to write that! ... visitors seem to be "back" again, though I'm not sure about the "page loads". Thanks for letting me know!
