Ok... I have used Silktide.com as a way to check my presence of my blog on Google. It has found me by using some lame keywords and I am the 63 choice.
Yahoo on the other hand is finding me left and right, from varieties of words and usually they correlate to the story or blog I have written. Which is what I want to have happen of course. I see that as a good thing. I have been found quite easily on other search engines as well but 90% of them have come from Yahoo.
Can anyone shed some light or tell me how I can be found faster on Google since most people use this search engine?

I think a blog is asomehting that changes a lot, especially since all the chages occur on the front page. It doesn't stay still long enough for search engines to find it properly.
However, since your blog is a Google product I'd have thought.... never mind.
I'd say, add some meta tags to the template with description and keywords.
For your posts, maybe you can set titles, and I thought I saw the concept of keywords in conjunction with individual Blog posts before. Was I dreaming?

Silktide.com said I score low on Google, but it says my popularity rank is 29022 in the world. If it were actually popular, I'd have more requests for moderators, and more members at the forums. I scored low on a few other things because I'm using PHP Nuke, and I don't know how it manages the links and such--the report said I had only 9 links per page, but I think I had more than that.

Ok... I have used Silktide.com as a way to check my presence of my blog on Google. It has found me by using some lame keywords and I am the 63 choice.
Using a key word analyser it found 1407 unique words with the best being
Word, Frequency, %,
the, 72, 5.66
and, 48, 3.96
to, 25, 2.32
in, 22, 2.11
is, 20, 1.97
Google will cut words in a search which are common. Your top 5 are all common. It also likes words which appear between 3 to 9% in your site and ones that also appear in your title, description and keywords.

Often when looking at peoples websites through Statcounter Lounge I have wondered what the website is really about.
Determining what a Blog is about would be the hardest.
However once you work out what your Blog is, you will have less trouble getting key words for it.
The fatal mistake is to say “Its about anything and everyone should read it”.
E.G. Seinfeld was meant to be a show about “nothing”, however you and I know it was a careful construct of human frailties in the modern world comically exploring what we would love to say but can’t because we conform to cultural norms.
So you must work out what Steve’s Blog is.
Is it a humorous social history look at life from the perspective of small-town mid-USA? Especially how a seemingly simple family, and its casual encounters, reflects its view on the world, and the impact of world news and events.
So, my advice is to work out why you are doing it and for what reason someone would want to read it. Then wring out some key words.
Also had a look at the coments by viewers:
* lol. Good Blog keish
* I just got here via Blog Explosion and wanted to stop and say hello. Very funny post, by the way! Denise
* That's just plain FUNNY! TrekMedic251
They all mention your humour! :)
All the best :)

More from my last post, but this in general to websites.
One line that marketers use is “Unique Competitive Advantage”.
What makes YOUR website better than everyone elses in the same TYPE? To be successful it must have an advantage over others. It needs to be unique in some way.
Take a look at the way TV ads promote new cars (I think you Americans call them Autos). If Ford and Toyota produce a family car for $30,000 both may look pretty well the same: 4 doors, 4 wheels, 1 steering wheel, 1 engine of similar size, same colour variety. But their TV ads will be completely different, they will try to show how the Ford is uniquely different to the Toyota. They will both entice you to say their product is better, uniquely better… a unique competitive advantage.
How one shows their website is better than a thousand other websites is the difficult bit. Work on finding your unique competitive advantage. Then Google will stick it up the top of the list.

I did everything you all previously prescribed for steve's blog.
http://www.danny.taylor.vi
My tags were checked with a meta tag analyzer at
submitexpress.com. It says all is relevant: title tag 90% - description tag 100% - keyword tag 92%
Funny thing is I get 2/10 page rank using my name url but no Page rank using the blogspot url.

I did everything you all previously prescribed for steve's blog.
http://www.danny.taylor.vi
I got this result;
Word, Frequency, %
and, 1, 8.88%
welcome, 1, 8.88%
to, 1, 8.88%
on, 1, 8.88%
origins, 1, 8.88%
case, 1, 8.88%
discussions, 1, 8.88%
for, 1, 8.88%
creator, 1, 8.88%
thoughts, 1, 8.88%
the, 1, 8.88%
A spider simulator shows this;
Welcome to Case For The Creator Thoughts and Discussions on Origins
Which coincides with the first check. Are you using a refresh or ajump?
Also Google ratings seem to go up to 9 or 10 which is a very small scale to try and rate billions of web sites.

Hello Motorwatchercounter
I did my own silktide.com check and found my site analyzes very good.
Their claim is my blog is extremely popular with a world rank of 144.
I don't use a refresh or jump. Should I? I did adjust my page title a little recently. No real major change. Added "Intelligent Design vs. Evolution" phrase. I don't know about those stats you posted. How did you come up with the 8.88% percentages? Odd - 888.... 8 signifies infinity or eternity.
And 144....scripture refers to 144,000 as the number of Hebrew Tribe remnants left to evangelize earth during the reign of the anti-christ.

How did you come up with the 8.88% percentages? Odd - 888....
Better than 666. I think the 8.88% is a rounding of 11(words)x8.88%= close enough to 100%.
Do not use ajump or refresh unless you really need to.
These stats come from a site with a lot of site testers on. Use the SEO parts on the left menu and you can see what results you get.

Remember that dynamic content like blogs and random things will change the results a little depending on what random things are picked up on the search. But overall you should get a good idea.
