View Full Version : How many total page views for each page/month?
I really enjoy browsing through all of the various stats and enjoy all of the options that statcounter provides, but I there is a really simple stat that I do not get from statcounter. I understand that your stats are limited to space depending on the package you chose, but it seems that it would be really easy to give a number next to a file telling you how many views or users each page has received without all of the bells and whistles.
Although all of the other stats are nice you can not get the most important information from them.
Simply stated, a column of file names with a number next to them or a row of files with a bar above representing the number of views/users for that file. This particular stat would not need to include isp number, location or time spent.
Thank you

Popular pages. Runs off the current log contents.

I don't think that does anything like what I am talking about.
The popular pages only tells you which pages have been viewed the most for recent views. What I am talking about counts the number of views per page ranging from lowest viewed up to the highest viewed period. This also wouldn't disappear when 4 more people click on your website. Some stats are lost when you reach you cut off and I understand you can not allow for infinite storage, but no matter how much you upgrade you would always reach your limit. What I am talking about would increment as the page is viewed and would take away from the amount stored.
Thank you
Does this already exist in this program? I don't need every piece of information stored, but it would be nice to see how many people in simple numbers went to a specific page.
Thank you,

I don't know what SC's tables look like, but it's doubtful that this information is in those tables as they're currently constructed. The "log" appears to be the only place where information is stored about a site's page requests. The "Popular pages" can be built with a query that sorts and counts url entries in that log.
But to keep a running total for a page would require a different kind of architecture. At the very least, it would require a table for each project that included a record with a page reference and count for each page that uses StatCounter. (Think about what you'd have to do on a spreadsheet if you were to build one to keep track of your own pages. SC would have to do something very much like that for each of thousands of projects.)
