VERY surprising. My site has just been up 3 weeks
Must be a very bad competition so far since I am by no means a guru of any kind.

Do a search for dxinone and you will come up with my site - number one (The one in the sign).

(Edited: due to poor writing by me)

Well, what does that word mean? Why would anybody search for that word? If you are the only one using this notion, your site will be number 1 - and you should be worried if it didn't come up that way.

If you search for web-ah-do you get one of my sites as #1. Does that mean anything? Is that a word? No. But it is a rather unique sequence of characters. Nobody would ever search for that, because if they know that "word" they already know my site.

It is a wellknown word in my area of business and people are using it, but it is not so very wellknown as Ebay or something like that.
But in order to explain what it is I would defintely make avdertisement for my site. And I am also ranked over the official site ( my site is an introduction) which I find kind of strange.

What I also found strange is that since there are other websites which have been around for years using that word - how come I rank over them?

The google results only show 155 results. That's a very small amount for a google search. You also might be experiencing the 'honeymoon' period that some people think google gives to new sites. Your page does look like it is optimized for that word, so you should always do well with it. You might want to check overture to see how many searches there are based on this keyword.

I was not trying to brag just did not get it.
I am very new to marketing against searchengines.

Regarding dxinone - its dxgold which changes the name.

The honeymoon that may explain it I was under the impression that it took 1 year to get ranked in Google.

Perhaps the time to get ranked is proportional to number of pages in the same keywords-area?

Silktide shows this site as 68th in the world. That either shows a seriously impressive achievement for a new site, a serious flaw in Silktide, or a web site format that needs bottling and selling

And thanks Jonra I will check overture out.

Because so I do not get so many hits by far, far, far.
As Christina pointed out it is a very narrow keyword - not even 1/50000 are likley to type that in this moment of time.

Ok, then your'e doing something right .... but I still would say you have to push other keywords which people would actually search for.

As I read somewhere else here in the forum it appears that Meta-tags is obsolete and that there is some text-alogarithm to take in consideration?

If so how many other keywords is the limit ( I would not like to trigger some lock du to too many).

BTW thanks for comments!

Not obsolete, but not given much importance unless supported by the rest of the text on the page. If you define meta keywords there that have nothing to do with your page text, there may even be some penalties.

When I say keyword I don't mean just the meta tag for keywords, I also mean actual text on the page.

LOL! I didn't even know what HTML was back in the 90's, basic or otherwise  I was stuck in the 70's and 80's programming languages at that time

As for help with English..... sure, as soon as I can stop making all the typos I'm world famous for by now .... they seem to stand out like a sore thumb in old cached versions of some of my web pages when they come up in search engines. This has got to be one of the most embarrassing things that can happen on the web

It feels like you are signaling: "Homer Simpson wrote this page - BE WARE!".
