great counter - how about message board?

Recently I saw an ad from a Co called Bravenet.com They offer counters but also a messageboard service. Are there any plans from statcounter on offering something like this?

Bravenet is a hosting service mainly. Whatever they offer for free is heavily based on ads, pop-ups, pop-unders. I wouldn't advise getting their guestbook or forum, unless of course you don't have hosting of your own.

Their counters also come with a heavy dose of pop-ups and are otherwise very limited.

Bravenet is great for a beginner, but I think by the time you start being worried about site stats and search engines, you're ready to graduate to better services.

Statcounter is one such great service and what's amazing is that even the free version is not infested with ads and pop-ups and pop-unders.

If you have proper hosting you can install lots of free forum and guesbook software which has no advertising at all and is open source and allows you tons of flexibility and customizations.

Yes it seems my spam count went from 1/2 email/day to 20 spams /day since getting the Bravenet.

I have paid domain hosting thru a small web developer & just need the guestbook. However after a year of futile searching, Bravenet is the only way I've found to get a working guestbook. Other sources I understand would be ~$500.

I use statcounter for my stats & love it but I also wanted a guestbook. Thus I use Bravenet ONLY for that 1 thing.

Are there any other ways of setting up/ programming a guestbook??? :?:

If you have php and Mysql suport on your hosting account you can easily install Viper Guestbook frm http://www.vipergb.de.vu/ which is free and open source .
