I've been using a standard counter for almost 8 months on my site now. All it does is give me the number of unique visitors, not very practical when trying to figure out where people are coming from etc.
I installed this stat counter today and already i've noticed visitors coming from a site that links to me which isn't truly the traffic i'm trying to encourage, i'm a skating site, they are a sneakers review site. Which would also explain why i'm not getting many signups to the message board etc. The people visiting are just not "London Skaters"...
With this new found stats plugin i'm going to improve the quality of visitors, not quantity. It's always nice to get 1,000 random visitors per month, but i'd rather just be getting 200 targated visitors instead.
For the last 2 months i've been fixing my meta tags and page content for better search engine rankings and have come number 1 for urban skaters in google and within the first 30 for london skaters etc.. So I consider this counter the next logical evolutional step in my web markating.
Thank you StatCounter.
PS, my site is no-profit, so this is just perfect!
