Hi,

Can I block the IP address of my local system(server) in all projects of an account of statcounter ---> without opening/ editing setting of each project individually.

Is there a short way to do the same for all the projects(nearly 25). If Yes, tell me the way to do.

Many thanks in advance...

No you can't but there should be a way of doing that.

Stickying this and moving it to the "feature Request forum"

I actually have the same request too. Whenever I off and on my modem, my ip address changes and I have to do "edit setting' to block my own ip address from each of my projects, which is very time consuming. This happens so often.

May I know the way of doing the blocking, pls? Thks!

Use the blocking cookie method. Look at your admin page and use that big buton that says Blocking cookie. Then make sure your browser accepts cookies and doesn't delete them, and don't delete cookies or at least don't delete the Statcounter cookie through programs liek Ad-Aware.

Thanks for your response, chris.

I did that, but it seems each time I use Ad-aware, I need to check through the list of "critical objects" and then select "statcounter.com" to be in the "ignore liat". Quite troublesome as I use Ad-adware every other day.

Hope that statcounter could include the feature for mass ip blocking for all projects to ease the problem.

Thanks.

Actually you should pray that Ad-Aware stops putting the Statcounter cookie in the nasty list.

Despite putting it in the ignore list it still gets picked up every time. That's ever since the latest relase of Ad-Aware.

Hi.

I like to delete the cookies after each time online...is there any other way of blocking my current ID address? StatCounter all ready knows the ID...couldn't it be programmed to automatically block it?

Thanks.
NRay

The ID is for when you log into your Statcounter account to manage or look at your stats, not for when you access your own website.
If you don't want your hits to get logged, you either block that by cookie (but don't delete the cookie) or by IP (but you need a fixed Ip address). No other way.

Thanks Christina. I discovered that I can allow statcounter only to set and keep a cookie by allowing an exception in my Firefox browser. I not only check my website but I check the referrers to see where I am ranking in the search engines. It got tiresome having to block myself each time.

Thank you.

This feature would be helpful to us as well.

What would be even more helpful, since we are on DSL which changes IP every day, is a cookie that blocks for all our projects.

Thanks.

Look at the big button on the My Projects page: Blocking Cookie.

I just moved flat and had to block my new IP on all my 50 sites, very boring ...

I would also like to have a "Mass IP Banner". I would not like to have it by cookie as those are erased every now and then.

No big deal but a "Mass IP Banner" would be nice.

Thanks.

You cannot block 50 projects by cookie no matter whom you bribe ;)
The most would be about 18 - and that would require you visit nobody's web pages that also use Statcounter - ever.

NOTE for those of you who did not read through the whole thread, this feature HAS been implemented. There is now a button to set a blocking cookie for ALL your projects. Thanks Statcounter Gurus!

This feature would be helpful to us as well.
