All of a sudden when I change pages, my current page is getting an ugly huge LOADING... and a 2/3 circle in the middle of existing text or graph.
What is that and how do I get it to not appear??

Not getting this on either of your sites. It may be something on your own computer. Check for viruses or spyware.

I don't think it's a virus or spyware because I've been getting it too.....but only when I'm looking at my stats via Statcounter website.

What browser are you using?
Oh, ok, I saw it. It's just for a fraction of a second until it finishes loading. It may be longer for slower connections.

I'm using Firefox 1.4. This just started happening today.

Right, I saw it in IE too, but very briefly (fast connection). It goes away once it's loaded fully.
I thought the original poster was talking about her website, not the stats pages at Statcounter.

There seems to be a javascript function called 'loadingscreen' and I think that may be what you are all seeing.
I think its causing me different problems. Internet Explorer 5 under Mac OS9 now has 5-600 pixels of white space above the SC logo and ad, which makes reading through the various sections of SC a real pain. I know its an old browser, but I dont have problems elsewhere.

Interesting.... this happened to me earlier today. However, when I logged in just now to check my stats, it did not happen. I am using Firefox version 1.0.6.

Using Netscape 7.1/Win. It appears for three or four seconds before the page changes. I don't think it's giving me any problems...but it is kinda ugly.

I am using Windows XP SP1 IE 6 SP1 and I see this also, I notice it when I am trying to look at recent page load activity. Here is a screenshot:

I get this too. How do I make it go away? I've run numerous virus and spyware scans on my system and have the latest McAfee firewalls and anti-virus software loaded with tight security. I have I.E. 6 and XP with all the latest patches.
Thanks... Cynthia

It will only go away when Statcounter changes the software so it won't generate this. It's not a virus or any sort of problem, it's an indicator from the program that says "I'm working, I'm loading, wait a moment". I agree it's not very nice, and probably it's meant to appear and disappear in a blink, which it deos most of the time, except when network or server conditions make it a bit slower.

I think I got concerned because the circle looked somewhat like the one in those awful ads where you're supposed to shoot the frog (or whatever). I always assume those ads try to install spyware whenever they can.
