duster surely google will see such pages as link farms and down grade the PR of sites you link to, also google has said quite clearly to keep links below 50 per page

the only reason million dollar home page worked is because that guy alex got so much publicity, but it was a one shot deal, the media arent going to take much notice of someone doing the same thing again

Why stop with just free ads? Why not an entire free pixel website? I have one somewhere??? Jonra may be able to PM me that url so I won't have to strain my neurons.

This is Duster's post #4 since (s)he register to this forum. The previous posts was made july 2005 and they are the same kind of spam as this last post!

BTW, the posting date is 02-25-2006 so why bumping it up now, 2 months later?

It was on my entry page 1 of the lounge. Do they place random pages on page 1 in the lounge? I don't know. Didn't know I was bumping anything. Just thought I would offer a site to go with the ads.

It was not bumped up from the "cellar" by you DSL :)
Nomad has the first reply to the initial post in the thread, with "Today" date. But I'm not sure if he dig it up from the deep either, if so how did he found it? Maybe it's just the server messing up with the number of the month (the day number is the same as today's)? :-?

Oh, wait, I deleted post #2 from duster, which looked like a repeat of post #1 (but I didn't check the dates) and which had brought the thread up from the dust ( ;) ), so that left Nomad's post as #2.

Grrrr.... I better delete the thread altogether.

You only see one popunder at a time and the pixel ads are free. Free is free.

Even USA Today uses popunders, so quit pretending that God condemns it. http://www.usatoday.com

And my second post (or third or whatever) was not a repeat of my first but just a post saying the URL for the pixel ads had changed.

Here is something I wrote for one of my blogs:

Skipping forums and blogs

In an attempt to maximize web traffic and advertising revenue, "untold numbers" of webmasters clutter the search engines with forums that try to lull you into paying attention to 1000s of posts made by opportunists who have yet to prove or even present credentials.

The easiest way to avoid all the forum crud during a web search is to add the phrase -forum -forums to the search queries (i.e., to the search questions) you type into the Google, Yahoo, and MSN search boxes.

And when you want to avoid the blah-blah blogs (a.k.a. weblogs), add -blog -blogs to your search queries (i.e., to the search questions) you type into the Google, Yahoo, and MSN search boxes.

---------

Here is another:

Editors A.K.A Minions

A few astute observers claim that since politicians cannot solve the big problems, they get their constituents and minions to cause trouble for "the little guys"so that it looks like government is getting something done. I would say that the same can be said about big-time Internet advertising publishers: They go after the small-time clickers, surfers, and bloggers who make less than minimum wage on the Net. They start "witch hunts" in order to deflect attention from the fact that they have a very hard time making the world obey whatever temporary rules they dream up during their unending quest to protect their multimillion (or multibillion) dollar profits. They call these phony mass actions of theirs "The Wisdom of Crowds."

But the wisdom of crowds does not exist.

There is no such thing as the Wisdom of Crowds (compare this to what pops up when you click on blogger.com's "What is the 'Flag'" button) -- people belong to groups and hang together as groups: age groups, political groups, national groups, Internet groups, (gangs, bullies, fools, and conspirators), to mention a few. Individuals are constantly influenced by their respective groups and the media produced by those groups and therefore do not make independent decisions. And when the data are suspect (as is often the case in field studies of society at large), statistics are fruitless.

Any election run on a technical platform rationalized as something called "The Wisdom of Crowds" will attract the public scorn of every newspaper in the world. In the United States, the American Civil Liberties Union (the ACLU) will likely assist in the prosecution of any organization that utilizes the so-called Wisdom of Crowds as the basis of government and democratic representation.

Yes, it seems that blogger.com's, blogspot.com's, opera.com's, and technorati.com's minions (a.k.a. editors) are made from identical pots of suspect stew. They have learned a means of deflecting attention away from their bosses' burgeoning advertising revenues: they get their hundreds of thousands of unpaid dupes to waste a lot of time and make a lot of noise.

You're supposed to cringe in fear and then write, blog, surf, and click for nothing or for less than minimum wage. That is how the Internet and the would-be Wisdom of Crowds are designed. The rich can't get you to work for free in their factories and suburban malls, but they can get quite a few loose-knit online bullies and tattletales to lead you by the nose here in cyberspace.

One popunder at a time is one popunder too many.
Nobdoy's pretending anything. Popunders are despicable. USA Today using them is no reference. God has no place in this debate.

Pixelads are just ads - a.k.a. spam.

I prefer Adsense revenue sharing forums.

Quite a few forums, blog communities, article marketers, and news groups now help you place your own Google Adsense Ads on and within your contributions/posts. That way you get something for your time, rather than wasting it giving it away.

I had a list of Adsense Revenue sharing forums, blogs, and directories here (none of them mine), but the moderator deleted them. Duster

Not going to happen in this forum.

I do not think that 1-, 2- or 3-sentence replies constitute a debate. And "despicable" is a pretty strong word. It is an insult.

Pixelads are just graphic links, similar to a link directory but much prettier. Quite a few Pixelads don't even contain words.

But I don't really care. And I find almost all forums to be a waste of time, unless you like to play games or work for nothing or you just got to read unsubstantiated one-liners.

Bye Bye,

Duster

There is no debate in this thread.

This is a support forum, not a game forum.

If you find it's a waste of time for you, you don't have to hang around here.

This forum will not be used as a medium for advertising, that's for sure.
