First of all, I really *love* the service. In particular, being able to see what searches people find my pages by is very, very helpful!
I know that you "can't" track an individual by the hits, but, well, sometimes you can. (That block of hits comes from *this* candidate checking on his press (his domain name was a dead giveaway), those hits came from someone reading an LJ post through *that* user's friends list, so it was most likely him...)
...and now I know that a particular sub page on my personal page has been listed in a directory I sent the link to weeks ago, because someone followed the link on that one back to my home page. I got curious, and added a counter - twice as many hits as the rest of the home page. Took the counter off this morning, after seeing the 'referring link' begin to propogate. I think I'll put up more pages like it, though. :)
