Hi Guys
Had a hit into one of our sites from gooooogle , nothing strange about the search criteria, but it logged as this

Host name - local host
IP - 127.0.0.1
ISP - loop back

Any ideas ?

Wierd. Localhost is your own computer (I think).

Or anybodys own computer, as the IP and "Local host" is on all computers. :)

It's from somebody accessing the internet through a proxy server.

Statcounter tries to get one step behind what it finds to be a proxy (to attempt to find the real ip in case an anonymizer proxy is being used), but this is where the local server of a LAN acts as a proxy server too so the Ip behind the apparent one is not useful since it's an internal LAN IP, the apparent one is the actual external IP.

It's a little technical problem Statcounter's IP tracking scripts are facing and which needs to be addressed eventually.
