Which software are you asking about? Statcounter? Of course that works. You just have to actually use it.

Note you cannot use html in the forum, as you can see it remains are regular text. You have to use bbcode.

Juts wondering along the same lines as this guy. Can anyone explain the benefits of using this over google analytics.

"This guy" was a guy just trying to plug his site. (S)He didn't even bother asking a real question. Granted (s)he's from a foreign country.


As for the benefits over analytics, they are numerous! Analytics doesn't break things down so great. With Statcounter you can see IP by IP. It also tells the referring URL's and the search engine queries that were used to find your site.

I know that sounds the same, but it allows you to see it for each customer! Also seeing those IP's is important. I've been able to track down someone that illegal copied and used my site through it and get a subpoena for his IP provider to give me the info I needed to win the suit.

On top of that, the IP address is all-telling most of the time. I've been able to see if I've been visited by government agencies, my competition (very helpful), among other things.

Also, it just loads a hell of a lot quicker for me. I got it on my sidebar, and I can get into my account in 3 seconds, so that's my main reason.

Thanks, Ive finally got an analytics invite but after reading a few peoples thoughts on it Im not sure. Thanks for your coments Im still undecided though.

You can use both at the same time and then see what you get and how you feel about it.
