While I originally loved statcounter, and was truly impressed by the service and support received when I first signed up ages ago, now I'm having a heck of a time getting any response to my questions.

After not finding a solution to my problem in any of the forums, I opened a support ticket. It appeared in My Summary, so I know it was activated. I checked back a couple of times over the next few days to find no answer. That was only at the end of June, not so long ago. Okay, so you are busy. I can be patient. Today I find the ticket has vanished, so I still have no answer to my problem, which I was hoping to solve in time for the collection of July's stats. No such luck.

And because I didn't get an answer to my question, I'd posted the same question in HELP. Guess what? I got a response saying Help is not for that kind of question, to open a support ticket .......... GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

So my stats are screwed for a third month in a row. And I'm not impressed by your lack of response.

Hi Julia,

That is an unacceptable level of service - please let us set it right now - what was the question?

It's that :) God i'm addicted to this service. You just complained about the lack of service and here it goes: a reply from the administration. I think i'll recommend this service to every1!

Hi!

I can find no history for this project prior to February 28th of 2006. There was one visit logged on that date, then what appears to be "normal" traffic is logged on subsequent days which indicates that major changes were made to the site involving the StatCounter code on February 28th.

Is it possible that you created a 2nd account, generated fresh StatCounter code for this site and replaced the code that was currently on the site? I did a bit of research and found another account for you, but it appears that the project in that account has been deleted.

Stats can be disrupted in four ways:

1. The code on the site being tracked becomes corrupted. This is very common.

2. We experience a server issue. Not as common and always very brief.

3. Stats are reset.

4. Customer has login problems, creates 2nd account and new project, generates code from that project and replaces current StatCounter code.

Summary stats are cumulative and not subject to the log limitations. If you can locate an old file that might include a different project ID number than the one currently on your site, it's possible that we can locate the data. If the project was deleted, however, then we cannot recover it.

There's one other option that comes to mind, and that is the security of your StatCounter account. With lost tickets and stats, I would strongly recommend that you change your password.
