I'm new to this, so it's probably something simple.......but when I click on 'Create a Blocking Cookie' the click box 'Create a Blocking Cookie' still appears. I'm sure this has shown 'Destroy Blocking Cookie' previously. Also I have noticed that recently my login details are not being remembered at the login screen.....I'm sure it will all be connected. Something to do with Firewalls?

Many thanks

Your browser is not allowing or not preserving the cookies. Might be security/privacy settings you have, firewall, anti-spyware, etc.

Make sure you allow all cookies and third party cookies.

So assuming you are not blocking these cookies and not deleting them yourself (automatically when you close the browser or by some cleanup program), then the following also applies:

Cookies get deleted naturally due to system limitations: maximum of 20 cookies per domain, maximum of 300 cookies overall can exist. This is per browser as well, so anything that happens in IE is separate from what happens in Firefox for instance.

If your account has more than 18 projects, you cannot block all of them because all 20 cookies from Statcounter would have been used up (login to Statcounter, login to the forum and 18 project cookies), so any new one kicks out an older one.

Every time you visit any site on the net that also uses Statcounter (and there are tons of them) you get a Statcounter cookie from there too which will kick out whatever oldest Statcounter cookie you already have so as to preserve no more than 20 cookies from the Statcounter domain.

Thank you for your reply.

I'm not sure about the security/privacy settings I have. I don't believe I have changed anything recently that should affect this but am not sure. Until quite recently I have successfully had a blocking cookie for my specific website, so something has happened in the last few days.

I have checked my cookies and I can see I do have quite a lot. I have deleted some (around 100) but still can not seem to create the blocking cookie for my specific website.

It's getting late now so will try out your other suggestions tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Windows updates, IE updates, other program updates - all can change settings.
