Wow!
Well here are both of mine
http://www.webado.com/other_stuff/photos/snow-drops-2007.jpg
Yep, 2 lonely snow drops among the winter debris.
The other snow drops blossomed back in early January when it got unseasonably warm one day and got them and us all confused.
Nothign else, not even green grass, still all brown covered in dead fall stuff.

OH MY GOODNESS is that GORGEOUS!
And, what non-Texans should know is that Bluebonnets bloom profusely along roadsides and on distant hillsides all across Texas.

Thank you, we are blessed with the "garden" each year. They are not as thick this year as they have been in the past.
We've not got a yard, we've got what we call a front pasture (approx. 2.75 something acres) and a back pasture (approx. 2.something, with the most out front) We've not a blade of "lawn". If we didn't have the green that nature provides we'd not have much. We do have a Planted contrived garden surrunding the house, but it is not near what comes naturally.
Travels with Charlie:
Yes folks should know that Texas does "bloom" in the spring. And not just bluebonnets, Indian paint brushes and a myriad of other gorgeous blooms.
If one looks past the rains, storms and tornados, Spring in Texas is a sight to see.

I've added a few more images (http://www.de.alitio.us/07springflowers/)that should show the more of the yard. Of course I made these smaller and you can't really appreciate the flowers as they are all just jumbled together. And optimizing sure does ruin em.

Our early flowers have already come and gone. Here are a couple of pictures of the daffodils that are in the front yard. Unfortunately, the sun was too bright when I took the pictures so the highlights are blown out. It didn't matter, since the only reason I took the pictures was so Gina could see them at their best.

For once, the texans aren't exaggerating ;), spring in Texas is as beautiful as the they say. The highway between Dallas and Fort Worth is lined by wildflowers for its whole length.
It's beautiful around here, also. I wish I'd had a chance to take some pictures. Next year. First came the Bradford pear trees (http://flickr.com/photos/potomac/394642925/). They are covered with small blossoms that can be white, light-green, or pink. It seems every other yard had one or two trees. Just as the bradfords were changing to green the redbud trees (http://flickr.com/photos/martinlabar/134554359/) came into bloom. Those are as beautiful as any flowering tree I've ever seen. Now that the redbuds are past their peak the dogwoods (http://flickr.com/photos/sheogre/383272382/) are in bloom.

Tell her they are what we call Indian Paintbrush. They are more of a orange, coral color with a bit of cream. They are not as thick this year for some reason.
The seed for the Indian Paint brush are so tiny, tiny tiny.
Note: The folks at Texas A&M University among other people have managed to "create" other Bluebonnet colors, Red or a Burgundy among them. A white one too I think.
But the blue ones are the natural state, and the Bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas.
Jonra, I so want a few Red Bud trees! Dogwoods won't grow in our area. The soil is not the right type.

The redbuds are beautiful. My favorite is the dogwood. They aren't used much for landscaping where I come from - Michigan. They grow wild in the woods, especially along the trout streams during the best part of the trout season.
The big deal in blossoms up in Michigan are the orchards. Michigan produces most of the tart cherries grown in the United States. Add in the apple, pear, and plum trees and you have a beautiful site (http://www.leelanau.com/backgrounds/cherry-blossoms-2006-800.jpg). Tokyo and Washington can keep their few cherry trees. I'd rather stand on a hillside in Michigan overlooking hundreds of acres of cherry trees in bloom.
I can't speak for Jonra.

Thats a very good attitude. Some people seem to get a little bit cut up about their ownership of an image. Once its on the net you're stuffed. Its 'out there' in the public domain. May as well be generous and offer it to everyone :)
