I installed the code again but the location of the visits is not shown properly, all shown as New York, although this is not the case.

http://www.scrabblestats.blogspot.com

All visitors are shown as from new york, but they are separated in the "Countries" section.

Well your noscruipt protion of the counter has & instead of & in it. Using Firefox to get the code would be the culprit, since Firefox has a bug and replce & by & in teh generated code.

Other than that I see all these links with no actual anchor:

<a href="http://my9.statcounter.com/project/standard/drill_down.php?country=ie"><br /></a>

This is a hidden link, but in any case it only works for you, if you are logged into your own account. Or rather it may work for anybody logged into their own account if they happen to have such an entry there.
So I fail to see the reason for those links.

Not that this would explain why you seem to only get hits from New York. Maybe you have had a run of hits from New yourk, maybe a robot, so it may have fileld up your log at the moment you were looking for it.

However I don't see how you got the country stats if that were the case, either.

Yeah, i used firefox, but I can't seem to find any '&amp' in the code.
I don't only get hits from New York- they are from several countries, but in "recent visitor activity" they are all labeled as New York. This problem was actually caused by blogger, which changed its layout and caused the previous script to stop working. Anyway it's not a really major issue.

You won't see &amp; in Firefox because Firefox changed that to & when you got the generated code from Statcounter. Yuo have to edit them in before pasting the code into your Blooger template. In any case, new Blogger woudl have rejected the code as invalid. Unless you are still using old Blogger.

I don't see what Blogger could do to mess up the way Statcounter reports geo location for ip's of the already logged hits. That's indepenedent of Blogger. I could understand if you got no hits logged at all, due to messed up code on your Blogger page.

I use new blogger so it wouldn't work?

New blogger, as far as I know, won't let you edit the template and add any invalid code. The & woudl have bene picked up as invalid and thsu you'd have an error rigth away when trying to save the template.

No matter though, what I'm mostly saying is that I see no way how Statcounter can be reporting different geo information for the same Ip address in different stats.

I'd have to see a concrete example. Sometimes when doing www.whois.sc/ipaddress you get conflicting information depending where you look. But this will never be for all hits you get unless they all come from only one Ip address which may happen to be one of those for which there is conflicting information.

You should have seen my own hit when I visited and that would not be from NY no matter how you look at it. But it also will not say Montreal, rather probably something like Sherbrooke, since that's where my ISP's datacenter is located (or was last I'd checked).

Unless of course no more hits are logged now and you're just seeing old hits.

Your hit did register from Quebec, but that was from another script which previously did not work. I reinstalled the code using Safari, but my visits are not being logged..

Your vists may be blocked by either a blocking cookie you may have set, a block on your IP you may have put in the project settings or your browser/firewall blocking third party images so that you are undetected by the Statcounter scripts.

I am experiencing the same problem. I have several StatCounter projects and this only happens with the last one I've added. I have checked the code against the old ones, and the only difference is that, despite it's a hidden counter, the sc_invisible variable is set to 0 in the project that fails, and it's set to 1 in the others. Could this be causing this behavior?

Thanks in advance

Hi!

Not sure what this problem is, exactly, but we're taking a look at it.

Thanks for your kind patience, and we'll get this corrected a.s.a.p.

I, too, am having the same issues. IP address is shown, but all locations are showing up as New York, which I know is not actually true. It shows MY loction, country, region, etc... just not any other visitors.

Please help! This is frustrating!!!
