I think we had a thread about children not so long ago but tonight Paula was reading the book called "The Snowman" to our 4 year old son Dylan. When it got to the end ** spoiler alert ** (just in case you haven't read the book or seen the film :)) when the snowman is gone in the morning. Dylan said "why has he melted" and Paula explained it was the sun. Dylan then said "I would make a snowman and hide him under my bed so the sun can't get him" :).

If you recall the image of the melted snowman, he hadn't disappeared completely but turned into an amorphous blob. My daughter was convinced for years that the snowman had turned into... a dog!

http://ken-g.webado.net/images/laffin.gif only a total geek could refer to a pile of slushy snow as an "amorphous blob"

Sorry, that wouldn't be a geek. It would be a pedantic, pompous a$$

Agreed, Alan.

Any more than two syllables can be difficult at times.

Thank you Rob. Where did you dig them up from?

All the best.

They were sent to me by my younger sister who received them from a friend who said "I hope they go round the world twice". In my little way, I'm helping them do that (hopes). I've no idea of their origin, but from the English, I would say the States - anyone like to comment on that?? ( I do believe one of the children said he was American and asked God what he was.)

We were rolling on the floor, tears streaming, when we read them. Perhaps we're starved of good humour here! BUT I think they are great.

Yeah they're great, Paula read them this morning and she thought they would good to. Some good one's in there, like "Thank you for my baby sister (or was it brother) but what I prayed for was a puppy" ha ha
