During the 1st setup, I used a different inital page load count - different from the old/original counter.

After I pasted the code and when I viewed it the first time, I saw the difference. I then changed it at the 'configure counter' to the same number with the old counter.

However, the changes were not reflected when I viewed it again. I tried to re-created the code and pasted again, it is still not reflected. Did I do it wrongly or is this a bug?

The counters are placed in my footer (http://www.thesuzette.com) with the old/original on above the test code. I am using IE6.

It looks like your page is too long, it loads in spurts, one might leave it before it's fully loaded.

but the original/old code appears okay, and it doesn't explain why the change in pageload count not reflected in the counter on my site.

BTW, I am using IE6, and now the counter image is not showing. I see broken image below the old code. What did you see?

I see 54277 and 2913.

My hit is from Canada. And I just gave you another one 1 minutes ago.

But I am serious, the page is much too long. I could have closed it way before the bottom loaded.

Yes I got you. I'm sure it is you coz referring URL is this forum.
You use IE7, maybe that's why you can see the new counter. I can't see it - broken image now.

Let me do something about the page - I'm going to remove the age counter to see if it loads faster, and reducing it to 6 posts instead of 10.

Actually the new counter shouldn't show 2913, coz I've configured it to be the same as the old counter.

It's showing 54337 and 2969 respectively.

Maybe the new counter doesn't "take" an initial value (so that would be a little bug). I didn't try to set mine to a different initial value.

If you don't se it in Firefox or whatever browsre it's the same reason as usual: you are blocking images (or scripts) from the c.statcounter.com server. Check your hosts file or trusted sites.

I am seeing it OK in Firefox and Safari for Windows and Opera.

So, if it doesn't take the initial value that I configured, how should I report this as a bug?

BTW, I use IE6, and I didn't block the site, and if that's the reason, why my SC3 is showing but not SC4? Is this another bug?

No, your browser/firewal/hosts file are blocking the serevr on which you have the beta tracker, c.statcounter.com . Look into enabling this and all other Statcounter subdomains.

okay, very simple solution - I empty my cache and temp internet files, it appears now.

Anyway, the issue still remains, the counter image is not showing what it is, after I corrected the initial number to be the same as the SC3. I think there is a bug there...? :confused:

Wonder if anyone is looking into this issue? I've reconfigured my initial count for SC4 to be the same as SC3, but on screen the counter still show a much smaller number. As right now I'm looking at it:
SC3 = 54,842
SC4 = 3,460

Of course, inside the Statecounter's report, it is showing the actual new number, though there are some difference (as reported in another thread): SC3=54,843; SC4 = 54,804 ==> difference of 40.

I've actuall reset the initial count twice to make them the same, but on the screen it still doesn't show the same. And in the report, after it runs for a few days, there are some difference, some hits just don't get registered like SC3.
