Just signed up for sc4,

been laying low and out of the loop for a long spell....

on exit links, which is what prompted me to do the sc4, but any exit links with a trailing slash seems to be ignored on the exit links display.

Easy to fix, by just removing the trailing slash if that's the problem, and this may of already been addressed. I'll experiment tomorrow or later, lol :). I'm quite late into this test and kudos Statcounter Crew!!!!

I'm getting Exit Links with trailing slashes!

I've not been,

I've played with it for a spell, and I didn't get a exit link from those links. I'll play more without the trailing slash.

Steve, you aren't being consistent your self in yrou exit links.

On your Rotary Links page you have at least one link without a trailing slash:

<a href="http://www.district6690.org" title="District 6690">District 6690</a>

Statcounter won't add it in.

Chris,

There isn't much consistant throughout the entire site, lol

But, It wasn't working, and it works now since I removed the trailing slash from two problem outlinks.

I only put the sc4 code on two pages, the home page, and the twelvedays page. These are the only two pages I have a 3rd column that I use for links to organizations that our club supports with contributions/support. Thats why I went with the sc4 code. I probably won't add it to too many pages just yet.

I removed the trailing slash that I had on two links to y0unglife and lifeline of 0hio and now they are showing as exit links.

Lots of other issues with my sc4 account, someone can go into it and look if they wish.

haven't heard much, yet, but as the reports go and what I see with all of this, statcounter is adding the trailing slash in certain circumstances. What I'm seeing is trailing slashes in my code prevents the exit links function from working as in some cases, sc adds it for the report

I don't see that happening, sorry.

Most servers will automaticallly add a trailing slash when they serve a page for the of a domain or a folder which is missing the trailing slash.
But Statcounter would not know that since all it can log is what was clicked on - it cannot know that server's response beyond that point.

Of course you should not have urls liks this:

http://www.example.com/index.html/ - that would generally be wrong and would give an error (unless mod rewrite is used but that would be rare for such a case).

I suggest you run Xenu on yrou site and see what it picks up as either broken links or redirecitons (it would be useful irrespective of SC4).

Thanks, don't need xenu.... at least not for this.

I see it happening, something adds the trailing slash unless the destination has an extension htm/html. my code doesn't have a trailing slash on the sc4 pages.

You need to run Xenu

Both to clean up your own broken links and external broken links.

Thanks Chris,

That might make a nice weekend evening type project. I can easily imagine that the make up page is a huge  nightmare, amongst other bizarre things, Like I said earlier, there is nuthin consistant throughout the site  but learned creating each.

If you have a chance, pull my url's from your post, and big thank you again.
