Hi folks,
We now believe we have fixed the final bug with the sc4 system which meant it was missing hits that were recorded in sc3.
From now on, your sc4 counter should record as much as, if not more hits than the sc3 system.
So do post your feedback and results about this here!

Finally caught up yesterday and had time to re-install the beta code.
Dramatic difference already with the traffic for today now agreeing with other checks I have been running.
Well done.:)

Hi Aodhan,
Just installed sc4 code to www.opendb.org and have had 4 hits since on old code but nothing reflected under new code.
Found the downloads choice but nothing there either.
Am I just too impatient?

SC4 is down at the moment. It has been down since yesterday.

I'm getting too many hits. (I think)
I just finished installing my "new" code last evening.
This morning, there were 5 hits, all within seconds of each other, for a single visitor on a single page.
http://www.campingandrving.com/cold_weather_rving_by_mark_polk.htm
I checked and have only one instance of the new Statcounter code on that page.
I do not have the "old" code on the page.
I didn't remove the "old" code, I just, for some reason, had never installed it on that page.
I checked again just now, and see that other visitors are also showing too many hits.

Can't access the site - it's not resolving from where I'm looking.

It's working fine for me... just pops right up, even after I reload (re-fresh) the page... and there have been many other hits since I posted that message.
Was this you?
Someone from Calgary, Alberta, using Firefox 2.0 and WinXP, came from this thread and hit it 5 times between 02:44:25 snf 02:44:26.
That was the last hit.
(Until the last few days, I had left it untouched for months, so it's a wonder I get any search engine hits at all.)
Earlier today, other visitors hit other pages, some even more times than the five I mentioned.
Sure makes my stats look good!

Now I got the page to load.
No wonder. You have inserted the code 5 times on that page. Please edit the source code in Notepad and look carefully :)

As I carefully explained, I had carefully examined my source code I before made that report... and it had only one instance of Statcounter code. ;)
The problem was ...
When I inserted one (1) instance of Statcounter code in all pages, my dumb program included all includes pages.
I wonder why you are having such a hard time getting such a simple page to load?

I am noticing that the old one is picking up quite a few less, than the new one. For example today Sc4 picked up 48 page views with 5 unique viewers and the other detected 5 page views with 4 unique viewers and adsense for google detected 46, so Sc4 is by far more accurate.

Hi,
My experience is different. Except for one day this week, SC4 has always logged less visits than SC3. Sometimes the log is simply 0. Also, the download counter, an extremely useful new feature, works only sporadically.
Cheers,
