I installed the SC4 Beta Code today

I had normal Statcounter code installed.
I then added the SC4 Beta test code underneath it.
Since I only have one Tripod website, I named both projects by the same name.

I have found that one project has a log size of 365 entries which I assume is my old project.

The other project has a log size of 46 entries which I assume is the new code.

Puzzle 1.
Each of the projects are listing down different visitors. How come ?

Puzzle 2.
When I clicked on the Blocking Cookie tab, it said that "Your browser currently has a blocking cookie set for each of your projects."
But oddly, the project using the Beta code but not the old project registered me when I was installing the code at Tripod.
Can you explain this ?

You had better name the two project just a bit differently so you can avoid getting lost. :)

As for blocking cookies you should remove all and redo them all.

Then verify that your own browser/firewall/anti spyware programs don't block cookies from Statcounter. They could block selectively just from certain subdomains and not others. The SC4 script is on a different subdomain than the old one you have.

How do I rename the new project ?

Can you tell me what URL each Statcounter has please ?
In Internet options of Internet Explorer 6 which I have, there is a text box where you can write in the URL which will then be specifically allowed to create cookies and override any other rules that may apply ?

You rename a project from its own settings. Click the wrench icon and then select Settings.

Statcounter subdomains are very numerous, so don't block any. Anything at *.statcounter.com .

Easiest is to totaly remove all blocks on third party cookies from anywhere. Not only doesn't that protect against anythng (cookies are not harmful in any case by themselves, theya re only little text files readable only by the site that set them) but blocking them causes more problems than good in general.

Yes I quite agree with what you say about cookies.
Can you please tell me how to ensure this in my browser ?
