Hello Christina & Co,

I hope that you are doing fine

Today I have a question : My statcounter runs fine, I can't miss this fabulous tool and I'm happy to have subscribed over a long period !

But there's something currently going on which I don't understand : In the "Recent came from" statistics my own website is being mentioned. Logically you can't "come from yourself, from your own website.

OK, so I read "recent came from" and a couple of times "www.brunomisonne.com" and that's me and no external site. Why is this ? I have reset the stats but it always comes back ...

Any idea ?

Have a great day,

Bruno

All websites and webpages, yours and others, can be referrers and listed in the "Came From" and Recent Came from" stats. If a visitor comes to your site's frontpage and from there goes to an other page on the site, the frontpage (with or without the filename added to the domain) will be the (internal) referrer. But if you don't wont those internal referrals to be displayed, you can simply "hide" them, and you will then only see the external referrers.

First, click on the wrench icon for your project on the "My Projects" page. Then click on the "Edit Settings" links to the "Project Settings" page. There you can add the website URL to your domain. When that is done, go to the "Came From" stats page (not the "Recent"!) and check the option "Show external links only". That option will then also apply to the "Recent Came From" stats.

I not only learned something today but I also was able to fix that problem easily and it works perfect for me.

Thanks again
