Hey everyone, I went to my web site to edit some keywords and what have you and while I was there I clicked on the stat counter. It opened the window showing the code, I closed it , didn't change or modify anything and now I have 2 stat counters instead of 1. It dosent seem to hurt anything, just looks strange and annoys me a bit. Any idea why this happened and how to remedy it without re-pasting a new code? Thanks in advance. :???:
Sorry, it may be my understanding of the English language is limited, but your post don't make much sense to me?
So I don't know how it happen and I don't see why it would be a problem to remove one of the counter codes from the pages, if both is for the same project?

Hey Arne. I modified some text in my webpage, not the stat counter code. I didn't do anything to it but open the window and close it. When I closed the edit page and looked at my website I now have 2 stat counters at the bottom of the page now. There is only 1 code pasted.

Have you viewed your page source, you must have 2 instances of the counter code.

Yes i just went and viewed it, now i have 4 counters. It seems everytime i open and close the edit code page it replicates itself. This is what is pasted in it now.

You see, every time i close the window, i get another counter automatically. This happened before so i deleted the old one and pasted a new code, worked great until i opened and closed the edit window. Thats when it replicates. If you can show me what to delete from this code i will just leave it alone. As you can tell, im not very SEO savy.

mmmm....intresting. This is clearly a case of copulating statcounter codes. Every time you close the door they start doing it. And when you open the door again, there they are. A bunch more of them.
Tom: Something is mixing your code. But it has nothing to do with Statcounter. Is your HTML editor the one is mixing it. Look inside the code you paste. There are links inside of it and a lot of thing that shouldn´t be there.
Just erase that all. Go into your statcounter account, hit the wrench if you are using the old statcounter interface, the second link point to "Install Code". Copy your code from there and paste it in your editor. Then check what the hell is going on that mix the code. ;-)

I went ahead and repasted the code, all is fine now. I think as long as I don't open it on the edit page I will be ok. Still haven't got a clue as to why this happens but its no big deal. Anyways, thanks for all the input guys and gals, have a good one.

This is apparently a Weebly thing. Facebook "like" buttons pasted into the html box multiply like rabbits there too. Like you, I don't know how to solve it other than to avoid opening the box, and if they accidentally multiply, repaste the correct code.
